Reminders
Bal-a-vis-x
Our very own school nurse Mary Pat Blanchette has just come back from taking a three day training in Bal-a-vis-x, a cognitive integration method. This approach helps increase productivity, improve posture, strength, balance, coordination, and decrease stress. It is also proven to help children with visual and auditory challenges, behavioral disorders and post-traumatic-stress disorder. Mrs. Blanchette will be working with children individually on a rotating schedule for short sessions throughout the mornings.
For more information on Bas-a-vis-x, you can visit their website here: http://bal-a-vis-x.com/.
Inclement Weather Policy Reminder
Now that winter is upon us, we wanted to take an opportunity to reminder everyone about our closing and delay policy. RMS will follow all decisions announced by Prince William County Public Schools regarding cancellations, delays or early releases due to inclement weather. In an effort to create a process that is predictable and consistent for parents, we will not make any independent decisions related to schedule changes due to weather conditions.
- IF PWC is closed, RMS will be closed as well.
- If PWC schools run on a delayed schedule, children in all programs should arrive at 9:45.
- Pick-up times will be as usual.
- If the school will dismiss early, parents will be notified by email, using the information provided on their emergency contact lists.
- If Prince William County schools have a scheduled day off during inclement weather, we will follow Manassas City Public schools for a closing or delay and parents will be notified via email.
You can sign up for alerts from PWC here: https://pwcs.ss9.sharpschool.com/cms/One.aspx?portalId=340225&pageId=783698
Indoor Later Pick-Up
As the gym is now often in use after school, on cold or rainy days, Later Pick-Up will be held in the Cafeteria. Please park and enter door 5 and walk down the hall to pick up your child(ren.)
SCRIP
Don’t forget to order scrip weekly at www.shopwithscrip.com and drop off your cash or checks by Tuesday. Mr Garvey will collect them curbside or you can put them directly into the SCRIP box in the office. If you haven’t set up an account yet, our enrollment code is 8F91287E14129.
Remember that if you want to earn that $300 quickly, it is best to set up a PrestoPay account because you can purchase and use electronic SCRIP immediately from your handheld device or home computer, no more dealing with dropping off checks and waiting a week for your cards to arrive.
Forgot to place an order? No problem, there is a SCRIP binder in the office with an array of cards for purchase. Simply go into the office and Kristina will help you through the purchase process. Any questions or problems please contact Rosanne Garvey at rosanne505@verizon.net or 703-447-9229.
