For Working with 6-9 year old Children

The Level II Atrium expands upon the seeds planted in earlier stages, deepening the child's engagement with the Good Shepherd and the Church. The parable of the True Vine serves as a central image, helping the child grasp their connection to the Good Shepherd and others—Jesus as the Vine, with ourselves as the branches. This period aligns with a key developmental window for social and moral growth, enriching religious experiences and encouraging fuller involvement in family life, the Church, and broader society. As the child gains a stronger sense of time and historical perspective, presentations on God's Kingdom—from Creation through Redemption to the awaited Parousia—foster a growing desire to contribute actively to building that Kingdom.

During this level, children prepare for and celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation (Penance) and First Holy Eucharist.

Core components of the Level II Atrium include:

- The expansive unity and history of God's Kingdom

- The True Vine parable along with other moral parables

- The Eucharist, with sacramental preparation guided by the Rome Model

The formation course incorporates presentations, opportunities for adult reflection, hands-on practice, material creation, and exploration of Montessori principles. Participants work together to develop album pages and, by the end, complete a functional, personal album.

A certificate of completion of a CGS Level I Formation Course is required before enrolling in Level II.
